The Camp Washington community will be partnering with the Freestore Foodbank to fill Thanksgiving grab bags for families this holiday season.

Time: 1p - 3:30p

Every Christmas Washington UCC provides new toys, clothing, socks, underwear, hats and gloves for children in the 45225 and 45214 zip codes (the 2 poorest zip codes in Cincinnati).

Each family also receives a large food box with a frozen chicken or turkey.  In 2023, we blessed 317 children from 97 families!  We do this through the support of many, many organizations: churches, businesses, individuals and generous financial donors.  

There are three ways you can support this effort. 

1. Adopt a Family:  We will provide your family, your business or your church with the following information:  Family name, children's names, children's sizes and requested gift preferences.  You can purchase these items from major retailers (by early Nov. we will have an Amazon wish list) and return them unwrapped to the church by Dec. 7.

Church staff is willing to pick up your donations. Please do not ship items directly to the church. 

2. Staff the Christmas Store on Sat., Dec. 14, 9 AM to 1 PM and/or Sun., Dec. 15 from 1 PM to 4 PM.  Volunteers arrange all the items collected for the children at the church to look like a store. Volunteers also assist heads-of-households to for free for their children.  Volunteers distribute food boxes and gift wrap as well. Weekend accommodations available on church campus. 

3. Make a financial donation. As many as half of the families do not get adopted and the church fills in the gap. Your financial donation will be used to purchase the items we need to assure every children experiences a generous Christmas.
